Simone Browne is currently the Interim University Carillonist at the University of California, Berkeley, where she also studies law. Originally from Tucson, AZ, Simone fell in love with the carillon during her undergraduate years playing the Rockefeller Carillon at the University of Chicago. She has studied carillon with Joey Brink, Eddy Mariën, Dina Verheyden, Tom Van Peer, Koen Van Assche, and Geert D’hollander, and holds both a licentiate carillonneur diploma with great distinction and an additional specialization certification from the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium. As a carillon performer, scholar, and instructor, Simone loves uncovering new perspectives within carillon culture and connecting with audiences and bell enthusiasts around the world.

Simone serves on the GCNA Bulletin committee and enjoys reading and learning languages in her spare time. She teaches an active carillon studio and has performed recitals on carillons in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Lithuania, Denmark, the US, and Ukraine.
